100% yes this would help new members.

I specifically remember me making a thread asking what these icons meant back when I first joined the forum:
Spoiler (Click to View)

Positive ended up replying with a helpful post and I moved on. However with these, threads like that would be avoided.

Yes, this would help new members for sure. Definitely pin this. Or create a slideshow and add it to the menu above.

RE: New To HF? - 123 - Aug 20, 2019

This is indeed very helpful for new users who would actually utilise these options to discover new things on HF.

this is good first time hackforums was changed to only buttons i was little bit confused, a lot but i learned everything in 1-4 days.

Hadn't logged in in a month or two and came back to this new stuff, this is kind of confusing until you get used to it. I like the older stuff better.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to pick up, you can hover over the buttons too and it'll display what they are, that's all I had to do when I returned to HF this time lmao

Also if you ever get lost with what to do, I'm sure a majority of the community is happy to help.
Welcome to HF btw, saw you had problems with your old account so I guess welcome back?

Well, it is helpful for new people. I know it took a few moments for me to realize what the icons were at the top when they were first changed but I think honestly the picture shouldn't be needed everything seems rather straight forward.

A friend of mine IRL, registered couple days ago. After using 15min he just gave up and said it’s shit and he cannot understand anything. (He was on his phone)

I’m pretty sure for a new member who never used a forum before won’t understand anything....

Shame a lot of new people seem to ignore sticky threads though. I would agree that it's helpful though.

RE: New To HF? - Nas - Aug 20, 2019

Really useful thread for those on mobile as they can't put their cursor over an icon to read what it is.

RE: New To HF? - Evanescent - Aug 20, 2019

Honestly, I get confused with the icons on right side.

For some reason I get confused with New Posts and Your threads icons. I have to move my cursor over it and wait till it shows what it is and then click. Not a big issue but new users might get even more confused.

RE: New To HF? - Adolf Hipster - Aug 20, 2019

It helps. A couple of them I was not sure about at first but for the most part, it helped me.
