RE: deVoid Theme - Mαxim - Nov 17, 2017 Cool beans. Looking forward for the finished version. I made a similar theme here. You're more than welcome to use the background that i had and maybe copy some things if you think it looks good. RE: deVoid Theme - Froggy - Nov 17, 2017 This theme is so much better, thank you for listening to member feedback. My only complaints would be to change the colors on thead and tcat (shown below) and to move the postbit date above the author bit. current (Click to View) vs suggested (Click to View) The change in colors looks much better imo, especially with the tabs. Oh, and also remove the text effect when hovering over a tab. (Click to View) RE: deVoid Theme - Serendity - Nov 17, 2017 (Nov 17, 2017 10:25 AM)Froggy Wrote: This theme is so much better, thank you for listening to member feedback. Agreed i like that idea. RE: deVoid Theme - Tyler - Nov 17, 2017 I actually like this theme. Simple and dark. RE: deVoid Theme - @Winter - Nov 17, 2017 I really like the theme, looks very clean and HQ. RE: deVoid Theme - Omniscient - Nov 17, 2017 Quote:I also prefer the User CP being well away from the logout tab. It's gotten me one too many times The javascript popup message to ask if you're sure is there so that should prevent accidental logout. Quote:Is this deVoid theme heavily inspired by Flat Darkness? No it's not. It is inspired by this image: https://imgur.com/a/eMdIc When I create themes I often see color palettes being used in real life. Once I had created a wonderful MyBB theme based off a Disney ride. The park had decorated the waiting room so well that I took many pictures and then used the color palette they used to create a fantastic theme. I do wish members trusted me more when it comes to designing HF. And while getting some feedback is nice, it's not so nice to be personally attacked. Quote:I would prefer flatter looking tabs but overall the theme itself is nice. More tweaking is likely going to happen. Quote:I can't actually see any of the categories under the tabs though. That's odd. Can I get a screenshot? Also try another browser please and clear cache/cookies. What device and browser do you use? Quote:Though these buttons when they are hovered with a mouse are kinda off IMO An intentional effect. Old tabs did the same thing. It's actually the same CSS spacing and postition just with a few color alterations. Quote:Omni thank you for this looks so much better overall and man I'm impressed I didn't think you had it in you. Isn't that the problem. The lack of faith and confidence in my abilities is disturbing to me. Quote:but I can't seem to have this theme width scaled as the case was with last theme my 1920x1080p resolution. I haven't decided what I am going to do with width. It was altered to deal with that damn responsive navigation but now that it's gone I have to decide if I want a smaller fixed width, 80-90%, or what...I will have to mess with it in my developer environment. Now let's see how long it takes for others to steal my theme for their clone sites which inevitably fail. Quote:Is the use of personal avatars ever coming back? Just curious. Interesting...didn't know you got a message about that. Why not upload an avatar since you're Ub3r? But I will work on avatars soon enough. I have to add a gallery plugin and consider the code for remote avatars. Quote:My only complaints would be to change the colors on thead and tcat (shown below) and to move the postbit date above the author bit. Not sure I can easily do it. Tried already and it really messes up postbit. Not as simple as just moving it up or down. It's likely going to stay where it is because it's less important to alter it than fix a couple dozen other things. Quote:Oh, and also remove the text effect when hovering over a tab. I love hover effects and just like the previous theme I will almost surely add more to the site. I feel on desktop hover effects make all the buttons and links a lot more obvious and pretty. Sadly it's meaningless on mobile though. RE: deVoid Theme - Caliban - Nov 17, 2017 Im satisfied with this theme, good job RE: deVoid Theme - Froggy - Nov 17, 2017 I don’t mean the hover effect overall, just the specific effect it has on the text is ugly. 😝 RE: deVoid Theme - Omniscient - Nov 17, 2017 (Nov 17, 2017 12:37 PM)Froggy Wrote: I don’t mean the hover effect overall, just the specific effect it has on the text is ugly. 😝 There is a shadow effect on the text which I have to alter by making color change or just removing it but that's not high priority. Gotcha. Thoughts on switching the colors like in my screenie? (same colors, just flipping them)
RE: deVoid Theme - x222 - Nov 17, 2017 how do i install this deVoid theme? thanks in advance RE: deVoid Theme - Prepper - Nov 17, 2017 (Nov 16, 2017 09:08 PM)Omniscient Wrote: I see the alignment isn't perfect center. Likely a margin issue. I'll see what I can do. I was thinking fa for things like the header icons, usercp, the icons below categories like hot thread, new thread, etc maybe even for tabbed menu. I know forum icons would probably not be possible due to font awesome not having enough to match specific categories. Maybe someone could create modern/flat images for forum icons to help match the theme more? Less is better imho. |
