That sucks :( There are a lot of salty people out there that will step over you to get ahead. I was scammed for 50M way back in like 2007-2009 (which would be significantly higher now) at a house party. The host kicked us out of the boxing ring when I was very low hp and like an idiot I accepted his "karambwan" fish and when I ate it I died from poison.
It's awful, but it teaches you to be more alert of other player's hidden motives.
