RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Black Hat - Jul 10, 2018 I don't understand why you wouldn't insist on using a system that is designed to protect you. This thread only states all DEAL DISPUTES require a contract. Hence if they get scammed from an autobuy link, the deal dispute would not be valid as that’s off site anyways So if someone uses autobuy link and don't make contract they can't make DD? The matter of time and new users will be scammed by autobuy links because they will not know about contracts. They will not be able to make a scam report because they have not made a contract. Perfect scam RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Vitani - Jul 10, 2018 (Jul 10, 2018 11:23 AM)Evil Morty Wrote: So if someone uses autobuy link and don't make contract they can't make DD? It's the responsibility of both parties to use the contracts system to minimize the risk of their deal. User opens a contract with seller > Seller accepts contract and refers user to autobuy > User purchases and sends the seller the transaction ID > Seller sends the product. That's one way to do it. I see your point, but again, if a seller does not want to use contracts, don't deal with him. RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Biggy - Jul 10, 2018 This is just going to be a positive thing for HF. Hopefully people understand this contract system is here to help them. Just use it! RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Black Hat - Jul 10, 2018 I think the problem here is not with the system, but with people rushing into things without understanding how the new system works. Not just that people do not scrutinize the members they are dealing with, all of the systems are in place to protect them and hold scammers accountable for their actions but due to the users own carelessness and blissful ignorance they fall prey and easy targets to what you could call career scammers, it's a fine art for these guys they know exactly how to manipulate people and their ill-gotten gains accumulates further. RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Omniscient - Jul 10, 2018 Quote:What about users who refuse to use a contact? Report it directly to me. They will probably get a closed account or a very long ban. btw, I plan on eventually locking people out of Contracts system based on a number of factors. This essentially coupled with requirments to use Contracts stop them from scamming on HF. So you'd go to open a Contract with someone and you'd get a message they are banned from doing deals on HF. This is only the beginning stages I have planned to make Contracts a very valid, functional, and working system to do deals on HF with minimal risk. Quote:What about buying e-books/programs, etc. via rocketr, selly etc? They need to make a contract per every buy? At this time it's not required to make deals with Contracts except for CE. But now with this policy you would not be able to create a Deal Dispute thread for an ebook, product, or service that doesn't have a Contract associated. This makes it safer to use Contracts than not. Quote:I don't understand why you wouldn't insist on using a system that is designed to protect you. At first the excuse will be that Contracts isn't easy or confusing but eventually the only people refusing to use Contracts will be scammers. Quote:So if someone uses autobuy link and don't make contract they can't make DD? Correct. Xerotic is working on tools for easier implementation of Contracts with 3rd party checkout systems. Eventually all autobuy links will be required to associate with a Contract but we'll do our best to make that a simple process. Quote:I think the problem here is not with the system, but with people rushing into things without understanding how the new system works. And that's why policies are being rolled out slowly as we improve the system to make it pain-free and easy to use. Trust me when I say that in the coming months no one will do deals at HF without Contracts. It will make our Marketplace a lot better. RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Pronouncer - Jul 10, 2018 At first i hated the contracts, mainly because of the rep reset, i almost had rekt, just had a few months to wait, had all the rep, so that put me off HF quite a bit. But i can see how this contract system will be good, yes there are a handful of teething issues but it will be interesitng to see the way it goes forward. It's very satisfying to no longer see threads about people harassing others using reputation. Thats true, but to be honest, from reading HF's history he is the only one from what i can see that contributed to a point where he has earned his rep. Idk its just sad. I dont care about my rep or anyone elses, just feel bad for Nokia RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Omniscient - Jul 10, 2018 Quote:Honestly on another note, forget about the reset i feel bad for Nokia2Mon, with how much he has helped HF its sad to see his rep go, he actually earnt it. He's apparently moved onto other things but I can't have a group with an owner who vanished. RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - Bαker - Jul 10, 2018 I fucking love this rule, tbh. RE: All DD Threads Require a Contracts - AeroBlue - Jul 10, 2018 Nice, really like these new market policy changes! I'm sure he has more important things to worry about. (Jul 10, 2018 12:18 PM)Omniscient Wrote: Then you're going to feel really bad for him when his group gets deleted soon due to a 2 year absence. (He's been the leader for years now). To be honest i did not liked contract system because it was more like an public ledger of all deals you are conducting but now when this data will be enabling to filter out scammers and prevent from Dealing , it will be interesting . Just made a sales thread , waiting for my first contract (Jul 10, 2018 12:14 PM)Vitani Wrote: There's always the HF Wiki and also the fact that he owns the oldest, still running group. Well i cant agree to your point about harassing other's using reputation , Reputation was strongly regulated earlier by Omni personally with lot of restrictions so it was hard earned and many members took years to build it . If you take reputation as harassment then B-Rating too follows the same concept , a user with higher B-Ratting will want other to go first with him which was the case with reputation other Only thing is that things will have happen in a systematic way , which is better for the community . But the basic concept why Rep was used earlier and why B-Rating are used now remains the same. . Though B-rating will be specific for marketplace and rep was for allover the forum |
