Reported Post, please stay on topic. This thread isn't here for flaming. 🎉 RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - developer11 - Jan 4, 2019 Which distro to choose? Some lightweight like Arentoo (re-cooked Gentoo - what a piece of crap) SHIT being out, you have what you need only :: meaning is 100% REAL FOSS. So no PHP, DM, Mozilla, Elastic and other shit. RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - Disease - Jan 4, 2019 This topic is a moot point entirely. The best distro for a programmer is whatever one you prefer the most. I've been a fan of Fedora since the Fedora Core project first branched from Red Hat all those years ago. Hell, I was actively using Shrike before Fedora Core came into the limelight. So for me the best distro is, and will be for a long time to come, Fedora. This doesn't make Fedora any better than, for example, Ubuntu. But I'm more familiar with the tools and the distro's lifecycles. End of story. Experiment. Try a few out. Get a feel for your preferences. Figure out what you like and don't like about the various distros. It's the only way to make an informed decision. Everything else is just someone else's opinion. It depends on what you prefer. Fedora is great. I'll try fedora for experimenting. RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - lIIlIIl - Jan 6, 2019 I would say anything that runs Debian.. So why not just Debian? RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - EldinPHP - Jan 6, 2019 I think Red hat is what you are looking for, it's really nice linux distro. RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - Ramune - Jan 6, 2019 Just run with whatever you prefer lol, it all does the same shit the difference between distro's is nowhere near as important as need be, personally I like Arch and Manjaro. Manjaro is cool plus can add blackarch repos RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - cloudpool - Jan 12, 2019 Checkout Qubes-OS; it's a security focused distro that uses VMs to separate your environments. Currently I use a Fedora template based VM for anything work/financial related (checking emails, paypal, etc), and a standalone Debian template VM for when I'm programming RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - mohamed117 - Jan 12, 2019 Ubuntu are the best for me.. RE: Linux Dist for Programmer/Haxor - pid999 - Jan 12, 2019 Gentoo for Programmer/Haxor ... FUN 😝 😝 🤝 |
