By the way what do you think:
Is having a whole desktop in the cloud good? Is it worth paying a regular fee for having a desktop in the cloud so you don't need to care about getting new hardware?
Will desktop in the cloud mainly be used in the future? Why? Why not?
I would also look forward to reading your replies to those questions.
Thank you  ✌

Building yourself is always going to be 0-40% cheaper depending on what price range you are looking at. The better the build and more expensive, typically the more you save by building yourself.

Using thin clients is a fine strategy for some use cases, however they aren't the same as having a full desktop locally. Everything becomes pretty dependent on your network connection to a remote host in terms of perceived performance. You also can't transfer large files back and forth easily or quickly unless you have a fast connection. For pretty much all regular consumers, it's much cheaper just to buy a new $300-$500 machine every three years or so than it is to pay a monthly fee. That breaks down to just $8-$14 a month depending on what you buy and only goes down if you keep a machine longer than three years.

That is a very good and professional reply. Thank you a lot for that. I understood it very easily because of your very good way of explaining it. 👍

What is an average depreciation time of a whole new desktop computer with new hardware (let's say for example if I buy a whole new desktop computer for about $25,000). On average how many years does it take so the value is depreciated to the half value ($12,500) and on average how many years so the value is fully depreciated ($0)? Half = 5 years? and full depreciation of $25,000 = 10 years? On average nowadays.

I'm looking forward to your reply. ✌

At that ridiculous price point you are looking at 80% of original cost being professional workstation graphics cards where depreciation doesn't necessarily match regular consumer desktops.

For a more reasonable build of say $2,500, expect to lose upwards of 25% of the value every year. It's going to vary significantly from year to year based on product release schedules and how much better the next generation of hardware is compared to the current.

Thank you for your reply.
What would be a reasonable price point with regard to professional desktops for professional consumers? For example for professional consumers that need the most modern graphics card, and much more modern hardware in order to work with videos, doing live streams, keep working with the most modern games that need most modern hardware and so on?

I would appreciate your reply.

I would appreciate your professional recommendations and your professional replies with regard to a price range of a professional desktop that can work very fast with every modern software (most modern video editing software, most modern games and so on).

Thank you ✌

If someone can please give me any recommendations I would highly appreciate it.

Additionally: What do you think will be the future, cloud based computer and no need to upgrade hardware or computers without cloud and upgrading hardware?

I'm looking forward to your replies. ✌

What kind of video editing do you do? You are looking at somewhere between $1500 and $5000 depending on what you need it to do.

There will always be a need to upgrade local machines because there are improved ways of managing data with better compute resources. Cloud has its use, but so does a regular workstation.
