For $5 a month you can have your own private server from digital ocean, and do whatever you want with it. (VPN, SMTP, DB) etc..

I use Gmail for my personal accounts (including for my domain too), protonmail and riseup for sites I don't care about.

crazy how i was debating hard about using gmail as i hate the fact it's watching everything u do I use protonmail on a daily basis but Im trying to get a good job soon meaing becoming a banker or IT specialist or some sort of job that helps me in the future im currently working at the biggest GYM in the east coast but i feel like im wasting time which i could get experience in other jobs that benefit me. But yeah off topic I was thinking these big jobs won't accept people who use protonmail or something never heard of or out of the usual reason im debating going back to gmail.

Personally I use Gmail and would recommend to keep using it because Google is so superior to other sites. Protonmail does however sound very appealing. Why not try both out and then see?

I am still with the old Gmail trend as I just use it to have a few throwaway emails now and then. But I might use Protonmail soon its been on my mind.

i avoid proton mail, they have suspended my accounts on there just because of a name. Avoid proton mail and tutanota.
Stick to gmail if your jsut being legit.
Or setup your own with Zohomail
