Honestly, I'm about 3-4 hours of playtime in and have not encountered a human boss or anything.
Saying that though, could very well open it up and be fighting one next time I play so I'll keep you updated.
What a breath of fresh zombie air though, I bought DayZ because I wanted a good zombie game - it's crazy how much people mod the game to NOT be DayZ, 90% of the servers I joined were zombie-less PvP servers. I was about to buy Dying Light 2 but, seen Dead Island 2 was released and went for it.
I played both original games, sad I had to wait 10 years for another but definitely well worth the wait!
