Where the boy gets in a plane crash and has to survive on an island by himself.Hatchet sounds like a classic survival story. I remember reading it too. It was so intense! The way the boy had to rely on his instincts and wits to survive really left an impression. Have you re-read it since school? Yes, definitely a book that touches on some topics that could be seen as controversial. I believe that's what caught my interest, and why I enjoyed the book so much. I like a good conspiracy theory. 😁 RE: Whats a book that you think everyone should read at least once? - Jinu - Oct 13, 2024 (Oct 13, 2024 07:23 AM)Moooookie Wrote: Yes, definitely a book that touches on some topics that could be seen as controversial. Books that challenge the status quo or explore controversial topics always get you thinking. Do you have any favorite conspiracy theories from the book that really made you stop and question things? Yes, definitely some of the CIA stuff. He goes into detail about some of the stuff the CIA was supposed to have been doing. He predicts some of the stuff that have happened in our life time in the US.. for example, the opiate epidemic.. he predicted that well over a decade before it happened, as well as predicted that with the exploitation of opiates and minors, would lead to "horrific school shootings" .. which has been taking place. The guy seemed to be ahead of his time. It sounds like William Cooper had a sharp eye for recognizing patterns and potential dangers. Did any of his predictions leave you questioning other things about the future? RE: Whats a book that you think everyone should read at least once? - TheGoldenRelik - Oct 13, 2024 There is no such book for me but I would think that Capital of Marx is a good point to start getting to the concept of the treadmill we are into RE: Whats a book that you think everyone should read at least once? - Vipеr - Oct 14, 2024 I don't think it's one everyone should read but I did enjoy Starters/Enders RE: Whats a book that you think everyone should read at least once? - Epic - Oct 14, 2024 Contact my Carl Sagan. It was extremely eye opening novel for me in terms of philosophy, science, and religion. I believe when it was originally released (1985) it was pretty controversial, some parts of the book are extremely critical of religion and how religion relates to science. If the reader is highly religious, it could be an uncomfortable book at times. It's also "hard science fiction", so it's written with scientific accuracy and logic in mind. That makes the book even more fascinating. If you have any interest is extraterrestrial type novels, I would highly recommend it. |
