This. Charities as a whole for the most part are a "Non profit" racket. They are in fact, profit and/or used by big business as a method of tax reduction. If you want to help, just find people you can help. Charities are a complete fucking scam for the most part. I'm not saying they're all sketchy, but for the most part they are. Exactly, that's why if I feel used, it wasn't a donation, it was a loan. If I give someone money and he proceeds to spend it on stupid shit, instead of using the money to actually fix problems, I'll expect reimbursement and I'll be pushy, and demand that money. Couldnt care less for say 100-1000 bucks, it wont impact my budget at all, but it's just the principle, and a lesson for the person, not to be a dick and learn about their own finances, I ain't no bank nor a charity lol RE: What's a cause or charity you're passionate about supporting? - Jinu - Oct 15, 2024 I definitely get what you’re saying. Some charities can feel more like businesses with the way they allocate funds, which can be frustrating. But I try to support causes that have more transparency about where the money goes. I’m passionate about environmental conservation efforts and local initiatives that directly help the community. Those tend to have a clearer impact, and you can often see the difference they’re making. What kinds of causes are you more skeptical about? Yeah I get that, it's always more about the principle than the funds for sure. |
