I just noticed that HF wasn't running using the mysqli functions which help handle the pconnects much better. Since HF was on mybb 1.2x I think on upgrade it never transferred to the new settings. Hmm..it's switched now and we should see some improvement and if we are lucky an end to the connections issue for now. The problem is how mysql handles pconnects and doesn't always drop them well. I have a timeout but I can totally see scenarios where it gets maxed out and frozen.

thanks omni, i was freaking out, i trying like 20 times with in like 40 seconds :P
then i tried a couple hours later and it was still down, but its up so thanks 👍
