O_O sadly It says connection refused what can i do to fix this!!!!

* - Łegym - Sep 15, 2009

@Darc
HAve you been to canyouseeme.org and check if your ports are open?

Are you connected to the server though a different computer? Or are you connecting to the server on the same network? Or are you connecting to the server through the computer running the server?

@Everyone
The reason i said to keep your server running 24/7 is because if your server is offline, your bots will not login the IRC server. The only way to get the bots back in the server is if they restart the computer. You will have infected computers trying to connect, but they will connect as soon as they click the .exe or when they restart the computer.

Alright thanks Legym
(to post I made like a week ago, just remembered and checked back on it)

Bump!

Having a home IRC server is okay for just holding onto your bots. DDoS'ing sites will get you busted

* - swiners - Sep 19, 2009

What would happen if the computer thats hosting the server goes down? like would lets say i use the IRC as a botnet, would that mean i would loss or my bots? In other words, cant i just turn the server on whenever i wont to use the botnet or will that disconnect them all

* - Łegym - Sep 19, 2009

In theory, if you were just to turn off the server, your bots will just log off. You wouldnt lose them since the .exe is still on the computer. As long as you turn the server back on with the EXACT same settings, you should be fine.

The only problem is that the victim would need to restart the computer or open the .exe again to reconnect to the server. That can become a big problem because you would never know how many bots you would have. Not to mention, if you need all your bots, they won't all be there due to the fact they haven't restarted the machine.
The solution is wait a a day or two. The victim will have to restart sooner or later, and when they do, they reconnect bacj to the server.

Good job

* - [H]ell - Sep 28, 2009

is there anyway of doing this without portforwarding?
Since i live in a rental house that has internet included i cant access the router pass
And im not gonna hack/brute force it...
I think he is not going to give me the password if i ask for it.
so is there any other way without port forwarding? :O

@Menzow
Im afraid not. If you can find a port that is open, then your good to go. You must have an open port to allow connections to your IRC server.

You could just buy a spot. 3-7$ a month

Other than that, thats just about it.
