Like if people are talking shit to me I don't consider that harassment where a woman may
From my experiences from when I played games I don't think I ever saw a girl in a game not getting hounded by people though.
On the flip side a lot of girls online are hailed as something special and given a shit load of positive attention too

As a woman in this community I can say yes ... it's a male dominated community ..so most of the harressment has come from people who struggle to understand a woman on here ...if something isn't the norm to some people ...they fear it ...with fear comes hatred.

This is what I agree with.
You could flame, shit talk me, threaten & spam me but that's not really what i'd consider harassment.
Only time I'd consider I've been harassed online is when a IRL stalker made fake accounts on FB to post bullshit on my wall & called the police on me random times at night.

Depends where they go online and what they say and do. most females hide there identity or just pretend they are male as they dont want to deal with the harassment. for an example, if a girl goes online gaming they get harrassed 9 times out of 10

As far as I am concerned, i've been harassed 10x more than the average female internet user - that comes down the the activity you partake in, which more posts/activity anywhere online is male.
As far as Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter - well that's not the internet.
This is the same with skin color, religion or anything else.

Men certainly get far more harassment than women.
Because of a couple reasons.
There are more men to be harassed.
Men don’t have white knights jumping out to attack their every critic.
It’s far more acceptable to harass a man and doing so would have little to no consequences for the harasser unlike harassing a woman.
