I just want to add my input to this thread, I agree totally with EVERYTHING srbg said. I don't actually know C/C++ but I'm learning C++. I simply cannot get over the level's of stupidity shown by visitors of this website. Honestly I think ANYONE who wishes to learn programming of any kind must learn that the SEARCH function shall become your best friend in any situation, if that fails you then, AND ONLY THEN, should you make a thread about the said situation/problem.

Anyways Although this guy has flamed a lot of my threads and i don't personally like him as a person this is a good share.
I believe this won't stop the hordes of youth's thinking installing Linux makes you a good hacker or that some book can mold you in to a C++ MASTER, however, it may get through to the "true blood" the ones who WANT to learn and who KNOW it will be tough.

In all honesty though, I've seen many more "t34ch m3 2 c0d3 cuz i r 2 l4zy 2 d0 sh1t mys3lf and r3g4rdl355 pr0lly wun't r3m3mb3r n3-th1ng u s4y but wth, r1ght?" than calculator (or anything else...) threads. Maybe it's just me, and the accumulating mass of idiocy is targeting what remains of my sanity, thus pushing me further into wondering if everyone on HF can be defined as being either a masochist or an idiot...

We could just stop replying to the threads, sure the circlejerk that usually ensues is fun but the alternative of just letting them die seems much more tempting to me. Then again most of the people that can barely write a line of code will jump on the topics like vultures anyways to boost their misserable little ego regardless.
