You can upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 with a 2014 licence, that's what I did. I would rather use KIS Firewall as it's better than Comodo's one, but it's up to you. Hopefully KIS Firewall is disabled to let place for Comodo. What version of Google Chrome (32 or 64-bits) ? * - SIM-1550131 - Nov 11, 2014 I usually just put a extra large condom around my computer and router, but that's just me. * - Understalker - Nov 11, 2014 my protection setup is my brain hurr durr dont need anything moar * - Aura - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 02:44 PM)McLovin Wrote: I usually just put a extra large condom around my computer and router, but that's just me. What version of Google Chrome (32 or 64-bits) ?Well my system is 64-bit, so I suppose Google Chrome is 64-bit too. Does KIS have HIPS? Could you give me a bit more information about why it's better - always good to learn. Also, how to upgrade Kaspersky from 2014 to 2015? * - Aura - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 04:59 PM)Turbanator Wrote: Well my system is 64-bit, so I suppose Google Chrome is 64-bit too. You have to manually download Google Chrome 64-bits, the default download webpage is the 32-bits option. There's the 64-bits option right under it. Kaspersky Internet Security indeed have HIPS : http://www.kaspersky.com/images/Kaspersky_Lab_Whitepaper_HIPS_ENG.pdf Also, KIS firewall is sandboxed and virtualized which boost it's efficiency and make it harder to bypass. To upgrade from KIS2014 to KIS2015, just download the trial here and enter your product key : http://www.kaspersky.ca/downloads/free-home-trials/internet-security?domain=kaspersky.com * - Turbanator - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 05:05 PM)Aurа Wrote: You have to manually download Google Chrome 64-bits, the default download webpage is the 32-bits option. The only reason is because when I bought KIS 2014, I went on to download Comodo Firewall and it was set as my default firewall. * - Aura - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 05:13 PM)Turbanator Wrote: Once I upgrade from KIS 2014 to KIS 2015, will the KIS firewall try to activate automatically, or is it by choice. I think it should catch the current configuration and let Comodo Firewall in the commands. Otherwise, simply disable it manually, it's easy. * - Turbanator - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 05:26 PM)Aurа Wrote: I think it should catch the current configuration and let Comodo Firewall in the commands. I've decided to keep on using Comodo Firewall though. * - Aura - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 05:33 PM)Turbanator Wrote: Thanks for the help, man. And no problem, I won't convince you to do otherwise 🙂 * - Orochimaru - Nov 11, 2014 Cool thread bro, do you have all that stuff on each of the computers you mentioned in the thread or are they mixed around etc. Because wouldn`t it be annoying with all those programs blocking certain sites and giving you nonstop notifications and all that. * - Aura - Nov 11, 2014 (Nov 11, 2014 09:22 PM)Orochimaru Wrote: Cool thread bro, do you have all that stuff on each of the computers you mentioned in the thread or are they mixed around etc. Because wouldn`t it be annoying with all those programs blocking certain sites and giving you nonstop notifications and all that. All on one computer, my desktop one. A few of them on my laptop (but still, everything included in that last is on my laptop). And no it's not annoying. They rarely do any kind of pop-up except if I encounter immediate danger, and I never do since I know what I'm doing. Everything dangerous is done inside a VM. |
