No, Omni stated it will be the only option. It's a better experience anyways, you'll get used to it. All the popular forum softwares (IPB, etc) use that layout.

The only reason I use it on other forums is because I have to.. I've hated that design since I first saw it. At least HF won't have the shitty user profiles... I guess I can take solace in that fact.
EDIT: Better is subjective. Personally I don't like that design.

Can't please everyone. Not everyone will like a theme design. Responsive alone is enough for everyone to look forward to it though.

Fair enough. Pardon me for asking, but what exactly is "responsive design"? I've heard that phrase thrown around a lot but with no real meaningful answers.

Responsive designs dynamically adjust based on the width of the device's screen. For example, if you have a grid of 4 blocks in one row: on a desktop, all 4 will be in 1 row as they fit. On a phone, instead of scrolling to the right to see the 2 blocks cut off (smaller width), the design wraps/pushes the 2 blocks down to a new row below. That's a very basic example. A more advanced example is the ability to modify the layout of a page per device: mobile, tablet, desktop. Hide certain things for mobile or reduce font-size, etc.

I've been using the classic postbit for a few days now, to get adjusted to it. I like that the posts are closer to each other. I still prefer the horizontal postbit though. It just looks better, like something only HF has. I'll miss it.
That aside though, it's easy enough to adjust to classic postbit. It definitely has it's advantages.

I am really hoping to see the new theme soon. From what I see on KnotBB, it looks nice. Looking forward to it, but are you guys going to change the color scheme like how it is on there, or change it to the traditional HF scheme?

Omni was working on a new theme to replace Modern Blue and people complained about it and it drove him to the point to say fuck it. Theme was really good too. Looked a lot like HF from back in the day.
He forced everyone to use Modern Blue for awhile until he came up with the current black matte theme HF has at the time of this writing 8-3-18.

Its about time. This looks way better
