Such a waste of money. It is like your car has great engine and transmission but you have square wheels. If you really want to push the limit you need to switch to SSD completely even for storage or maybe get PCI-E SSD. I'm happy i'm not the only one that noticed that. Please return that 3970x and the 3930k. The 3970x is a status thing that is just a waste of money. Your build really confuses me. You say 2x 770 or 2x 780. There is a $500 price difference, where is that $500 going if get the 770? Why not get 3x 770 then spend the $500 from the processor on a better case and ssd? The build really isn't a monster it is an average enthusiast build. Or even better use the $1000 to get a better liquid cooling set up * - Jeremy Corbyn - Jun 15, 2013 Maybe when you get the new RAM you should get watercooled stuff. No performance boost but it looks amazing. * - Zankza - Jun 15, 2013 (Jun 15, 2013 12:35 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: You are going to get 2x GPUs and Extreme version of CPU and you are getting some mediocre SDD with only 120GB? Don't bother with this clown, his money thinks just cause the item is on the first list for highest price sorting is always best. If first five people tried to tell him to return and reconsider, nothing else will make him consider, and we'll just have to sit here and nod at him until he assembles and realizes in few weeks (perhaps months depending how big your ego is) and then we'll have our chance to laugh at him. * - ProfoundZeus™ - Jun 15, 2013 Seriously, everyone starts flaming in my thread WTF I wanna make something clear. I was sure about the processor in the first place. I don't care if the 3930K has only 5% less than the 3970X. I want that 5%. Also, I made this thread to help me pick parts for everything else. Already someone recommended with valid reasons, why I should take watercooling, and I went with that instead of an H100i. @Zankza 1st post: Not even close. 2nd post: I don't want to show anything off, I don't want to build the best PC on HF, or anything like that. If I wanted to do something like that I would be like sick addicted to HF like some skids are. This build is a personal preference. @Sherlock Holmes I might consider that. @Chris S This is not about what I could do with the money If i changed some parts. Nobody realizes that, I've told it 10x times. The parts that are selected, I get the money for them buy them. Not liek don't get this one, get the other, you'll save money and get this. One after the other, simply. @BigDomePiece Not at all. @archangel.dmitry Recommend me models please. I'll see which are available at my retailer. * - archangel.dmitry - Jun 15, 2013 Get Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB at least. If you go with PCI-E SSD, you are basically limited to OCZ. Revodrive 3 X2 (or Max IOPS) has impressive transfer rates. But this thing is expensive, and in case of Max IOPS, hard to find because they do not make it more but still provide warranty. I know that Intel is good but I do not have personal experience with it. That is why I can't recommend it. I honesty do not care if you want to get Extreme model, but the SSD you have picked just pops up too much. Also, you might want to wait for Haswell E. I think it should be released in Q3 2013. * - ProfoundZeus™ - Jun 15, 2013 (Jun 15, 2013 05:05 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: Get Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB at least. It has the Samsung 512GB SSD 840 Pro Series tho. Good? Also yes, I thought about waiting for the Haswell-E but I need to build this now cause my PC is falling apart. Right now it runs with an external PSU. * - archangel.dmitry - Jun 15, 2013 Yes, there is 512GB version. It is just more expensive. I think you will enjoy it. Get a good motherboard, they promise to re-use same 2011 socket for Haswell-E. So, you can sell your CPU later and upgrade to Haswell if you want and can afford it. * - ProfoundZeus™ - Jun 15, 2013 (Jun 15, 2013 05:15 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: Yes, there is 512GB version. It got everything I'd ever need, plus I've used past versions of it and I never was disappointed by it. ROG ftw. * - archangel.dmitry - Jun 15, 2013 I heard, it is good. I personally prefer P9X79 series though. I need to take back my comment regarding Haswell-E upgrade. It is going to work with X99 chipset and DDR4. While they keep same Socket, it is not really the same. So, you will have to change RAM, Motherboard and CPU if you decide to upgrade. * - Skeptiks - Jun 15, 2013 Just ignore everyone. Wether you should downgrade certain parts or not, your computer is better than most of ours, including mine. Be proud! * - ProfoundZeus™ - Jun 16, 2013 (Jun 15, 2013 05:28 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: I heard, it is good. I personally prefer P9X79 series though. Yes, P9X79 series are pretty good from what I've heard. Hmm ok, doesn't matter. Its not like I'm going to need a new PC in 2 years. And even then, in 2 years I'll have probably raised enough money to get a new one. (Jun 15, 2013 05:39 PM)Skeptiks Wrote: Just ignore everyone. Thanks for your comment. Trust me you will never see the 5% gain on the 3970x over the 3930k if you overclock. But it is your decision, I'm just going to point out no one holding world records use 3960/70x * - DemonCorp - Jun 16, 2013 (Jun 16, 2013 08:37 AM)Chris S Wrote: You are obviously trying to get the best performance and sticking with the exact same budget you can do that with my suggestions. They are the same, all tests are within margin of error. If he wants to buy because of the name then he can waste the money, plenty of people recommended against it but it is his decision in the end. Not much point asking for advice though if not going to listen * - ProfoundZeus™ - Jun 16, 2013 (Jun 16, 2013 08:44 AM)DemonCorp Wrote: There isn't 5% when they are both OC'd at the same clock speed. But I am planning on overclocking the 3970x anyway, so how do you suggest I reach the overclocked 3970x then? * - DemonCorp - Jun 16, 2013 (Jun 16, 2013 09:38 AM)ProfoundZeus™ Wrote: Pointed out 10's of times now.
