All of you people valuing a Gorillas life over a 3 year old kids are fucking retarded.
If that was your little brother, or a relative, you wouldnt be talking the way you are. It was a fucking three year old that fell into the cage. Three fucking years old, and you people think he has the mental capacity to even know what was going on, and condemn him to die over a fucking Gorilla. You people are dispicable.
If a tranquilizer dart was used, the Gorilla could have killed the boy due to a delay between the Gorilla feeling the dart and the sedative kicking in.
Also, if a zoo has such a poorly guarded exhibit that a 3 year old can accidentally fall into a Gorilla cage, that is the zoos problem. This should have never been possible for an adult, let alone a 3 year old kid.
You guys can pass blame around to whoever. The point is, if you think that a little 3 year old deserved to die over a Gorilla, you are a piece of trash. Thats all I have to say about you.

Man that is just fucking stupid, that gorilla was being pretty fucking gentle in my book. But instead of tranquilizing him, they fucking shot him because someone couldn't fucking watch their kid, my god.

The gorilla could not be tranquilized. I dont know why people keep mentioning this.
First of all, it dragged the kid over 20 yards, and through water.
Second, as soon as the gorilla felt the dart, it could have become aggressive, potentially harming the child before the sedative kicked in.
Ultimately, this comes down to poor planning and engineering of the Gorilla's enclosure. It's really the fault of the Zoo. This could have happened to anybody, and the woman who was supposedly "not watching her child" was busy watching multiple small little children. She had her hands full, and a three year old should not have been able to just fall into the enclosure of a "potentially dangerous" animal.

The black lives matter movement is now claiming racism over the gorilla cage incident. I am literally smashing my face into my desk now. Why do I have to share the same air with these people?

Unpopular opinion here.
Not going on the whole tranquilizer idea some have because I get the flaws in that -- it makes sense to likely make things a hell of a lot worse before better. I'm going off the idea of removing the kid without any of that, and I think if the kid were to die, then shit that sucks but it happened, he is in a fucking gorilla enclosure naturally that is a possibility. Its a bit irritating that the gorilla was killed for doing whatever he wants in his domain, and because someone else had a fuckup it ended this way.
Probably sound like an asshole, probably worded this poorly. Oh well, the event has already happened so I don't care too much.

I don't see that they had any other choice but to shoot the gorilla. The child was clearly in danger although open to interpretation, one cannot take a chance here in this situation.
