I just finished reading it and one thing I really liked about it is OP explains everything. Goodies gave extensive background information and you can understand what is going on behind the scenes while pentesting. * - Repentant - Jul 2, 2014 Im pretty sure in order to do this you will need a Linux OS, ;) You can't hack If you don't got linux 🤝 * - Th3PonyWizard - Jul 3, 2014 (Jul 2, 2014 05:11 PM)Motivational Wrote: Im pretty sure in order to do this you will need a Linux OS, ;) You can't hack If you don't got linux 🤝This comment shows how much you need this book ;D * - Kayoz - Jul 3, 2014 I've already vouched for this eBook but I gotta say it again, this is straight out knowledge. A common misconception of people first getting into pentesting/hacking is that you need a specialized Linux distro to "hack" but this is far from the truth. Many programs that penetration testers use are made for Linux because it has better interaction with hardware and fewer limits out of box and is HIGHLY configurable (not to mention open source) but many things that are not contingent on the attacker's OS (IE: remote exploitation of hosts or websites) certainly do not require Linux. Any updates will be free. They will not be often, but it may happen. * - klemmett - Jul 5, 2014 I came back to update my review. I've been learning Pen testing for a while; I shared a link to a pack of books on the subject in the free tutorials section. Although past the "introductory" stage, I bought this last week. To say that this text would have saved me countless hours wwhen I started playing with kali/metasploit is stating the obvious, but it's also helped me in a number of areas where I was making slow progress. It's really a good book. |
