What was it that you didn't find helpful? If you could elaborate I'll try my best to explain or even find threads that have full explanations about it.

I'm also curious what part was confusing to understand?

This feedback could help future new members.

Although I'm not a new user, I can give some insight that is valuable. So I used to be a very active member but then I became very inactive from the years 2015-2019. During my inactive period, the forum changed so much that I struggle to readjust when I started casually browsing the forum again.

1)
In my opinion, a lot about the forum isn't very intuitive as there are lots of new changes that I find confusing. I actually think the "new" forum has a bit of a learning curve to it. It has so much going on that for a newbie, I think it would be hard to quickly understand all the different facets of this forum at a glance.
Personally, in my opinion I feel like the forum is doing too much at once, and a lot of features just don't feel coherent. For example, there's just to name a few, but features such as contracts, bytes, games, lottery, scratchcards, vendors, the overlap of chats & messages etc. They all feel like just one tool that does many things.

2)
In reference to this image

Some of the things I remember struggle to quickly understand at a glance was the "Your threads" and "Your posts" icon, and this was because the icons are not really representative of what they are. I also think there's a lot going on in the top navbar, there's too many icons and unless you hover over them, it's not always obvious what they do by just looking at them. I think this is usually the problem with icon navbars, sometimes an icon cannot always convey a word.

3)
Also, another thing I find confusing is the new user profile. In my opinion it's too complicated and has a lot going on with it.
For example, https://prnt.sc/tbxwdr
I feel like at the beginning, at a glance, I didn't really know what that section was for. It feels too packed with lots of visually overwhelming content.

4) Finally, in my opinion it feels like these new changes were just developed by backend developers that don't really have UI/UX skills. So it would be worth while having a front-end developer and designer that have good UI/UX design skills. In addition, it would be worth having a group of testers. Users that would do "User-acceptance testing", whereby you'd ask them to do a specific task and gauge how they perform and tweak your website according to their feedback.

Overall, I feel like these new changes were being forced onto an "old design" and that's probably everything feels clunky. What might be worth while exploring is completely redesigning the UI of the forum from the ground up. Take a look at for example Discourse and see perhaps how they are handling things.

There's a lot more I can explain and go into detail about, and I know my writing isn't that coherent, because I'm feeling lazy. I can explain in more detail if anyone thinks my feedback would add any value.

Edit: By the way, I intentionally didn't read any of the previous posts on the thread before posting just so I am not influenced by any external factors.

Unsure what you aren't understanding...

Think of it like a cheat sheet for navigating the forums until you eventually get the hang of getting around. That's pretty much what I did when I first joined. I do apologize if there's a language barrier. Sometimes this can be tough. :/

Have you read the official Help Documents? You can pretty much find everything there that will help you out on your journey. Best of luck to you and welcome to the board.

On a side note, I really think this thread should be pinned in this section but ultimately that's up to the staff and there's probably a reason why it isn't.
