That keeps the extension .exe though - there is no actual way to remove the .exe as it needs to be opened as an exe. or any executable format - like .com
Only way the above would fool someone is if they have extensions hidden.

There's no way of removing a .exe from your Keylogger/RAT if you did remove it, then it would corrupt your server and wouldn't execute upon opening.
