My ISP blocking certain sites(?) - Right Gf - Mar 14, 2011
My ISP seems to block alot of sites, turned off antivirus/malwarebytes protection, everything and it still doesn't work. Not sure if this is my ISP, but it seems like it is... so how do I fix it without having to call my host?

Are you having a problem accessing HF? If yes, it might not be a problem with ISP. Your IP or the whole country might be blocked.

Not HF, but a lot of other forums I'm active on, this happened like 3 days ago.

Are you currently on a VPN or proxy? Also what country are you from?

Ight, thanks guys. I uninstalled Malwarebytes and some sites work, but there's still sites my ISP blocks =l

Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, open up the hosts file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into this thread.

Try Google DNS.

A lot of times the block from an isp is at the DNS level.

HughesNet was censoring HackForums. I had to bitch at them over the phone for two hours to get them to unlock it.
