[VB.NET] Speech Recognition [/VB.NET] - Siy - Apr 25, 2011 Hello guys, this is my first tut so please dont flame =_= Okay, today i am going to show you guys how to use Speech Recognition in VB.NET. What Do You Need: Have Speech Recognition (Win7, WinVista, WinXP) Visual Basic/Studio 2005/2008/2010 Microsoft Speech Object Library (if you update your machine, you will have it, else you have to google it) A file i uploaded with a virus scan, if you dont trust me cause i got low posts, please gtfo. i'm trying to help you so if you dont trust gtfo. thank you. its a verry small file. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?h6ktkqqgla9xerr Virus Scan: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=3b884286e6fdeab5b056e0dc3f122b6e08f6fa6060e2717527f1a7e17b9edf72-1303717546 Quote:File name: SpeechLibrary.rar Ok, open up Visual Basic/Studio.. New Project> name it whatever you want. Project>Add Existing Item > Browse > SpeechLibrary.vb(the file you downloaded) than Project> Add References... > COM > Microsoft Speech Object Library ok, now to enable the Speech Recognition, Add a button OR add the following code in the main form (form1).Load; Quote:SpeechLibrary_StartSpeechRecognition() 'this code will enable the speech recognition double click the Speechlibrary.vb ( IN YOUR PROJECT ) scroll down until you see Quote:Private Sub SpeechLibrary_COMMAND_LIST() now i've already added an example for you guys; If (program hears; Speech ) Then GOTO GOOGLE=D Quote: If SpeechLibrary_ResultToString = "speech" Then SpeechLibrary_ResultToString = "speech" = What you say, what the program hears Process.Start("http://www.google.nl") = what the program does after it hears it. MsgBox("speak more clearly") = a messagebox that pops up if you dont speak clearly enough. now open Speech Recognition then debug the application you made. enable the speech recognition and say; Speech. NOTE: if you dont know how to get to Speech Recognition, or if you have never done it before Start Menu> Control Panel > type in the searchbox; Speech Recognition, and start the tutorial.
