Smudging into cool effects at Photoshop - Magnus - May 25, 2011 Smudging into cool effects at Photoshop Outcome: ![]() Okay so first choose small pixels, 460x180-550x200. But be sure to be transparent.
Now go to Filter>Render>Clouds, but be sure your colors to be black and white before doing that. Now go to the smudging tool and go to Brush. Go to shape dynamics and use 93 size Jitter. And now go to scattering and chose from 139-160. Count 1-3 and Counter jitter 1-2. Now chose Transfer and make the Strength Jitter to be 95-100. And now choose Smoothing. Your done with the smudging tool now duplicate the clouds. (CTRL+J) and select the second layer and smudge it really good. Now make a new layer and choose the hard round brush and choose the black color and make 2-3 lines with it. But be sure the lines to be big so choose the size of the brush to be 50-80 and to marge the new layer with the second(chosen) cloud layer. Now after that smudge the lines. Now, again make a new layer and choose the white color and again the brush tool with the same brush and make 2 lines. But be sure the lines to be on the places where it's too black. And again marge them and again smudge them. Now if you do everything perfectly it should look something like this:![]() Now go to Filter>Filter Gallery. And choose the Crosshatch, and press okay. Place your render. Smudge somewhere on the clouds again. Duplicate the render 2 times. Select the 1 duplicated layer and go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates. But make the opacity of the layer 15-20. Now choose the second duplicated layer and go to filter>blur Gaussian blur and choose 50-70 pixels. Now put the original render layer in front and go to filter sharpen>sharpen. Now go to layer>new Adjustment layer and go Gradient Map. And now choose the colors that have purple and orange. But lower the opacity of the gradient layer to 40-55%. Now if you do everything right until here it should look something like this: ![]() After this make 1 new layer and choose the tool that looks like a Rectangular.(Rectangular Tool) And choose the black color and make a thin rectangle (5-10 pixels) than color it with the Paint Bucket tool black and put it on the top of the signature. Now duplicate the layer, but this time put it on the bottom of the signature. Now add your name and you will be done. If you like to make the signature even more cooler. Make a text layer and type 3 lines from 2-5 words. If you do everything right it should look something like this: ![]() Hope you like my tutorial! * - Warbiest - May 25, 2011 Nice simple, well-written tutorial.
