Too make it short:
Think about this:
- Download the latest trial version of a popular shareware application - let's say "WinZip".
- Use a resource editor like "Resource Hacker" and replace the current version number with the next higher one. (1.0 --> 2.0)
- Crypt your payload and make sure that it is really FUD!
- Bind your payload with the Setup executable of the that
- Submit your binded Setup file to a big download portal via an anonymous email remailer - using a fake forwarder (e.g. [email protected]) and claim it was a important update. For example you could tell them that you fixed several critical bugs or something like that ;-) ... 😏

@OP I couldn't see a place like cnet updating there link to malware they probably look at it before they update it...have you ever managed to pull this off or is it just an idea?
