Best anime series for adults? - 1-0 Meadows - Jun 1, 2011 Personally I think Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop are the best series for adults or anyone with a higher standard in storytelling and overall production. But im sure some of you think different eh? Let's hear it cause ive been looking for a new anime to start that isnt too cute or fluffy. * - Highest Quality - Jun 1, 2011 I just finished Code Geass and it was pretty amazing. SEason 1&2 were excellent. Has some childish things in the beginning 3-4 episodes. But after that it just keeps getting better and better. * - 1-0 Meadows - Jun 1, 2011 Interesting. I had a few friends suggest it in the past but I never made it past the first 2-3 episodes although I thought the premise was always awesome. I'm gonna have to give it a second chance and watch the first season atleast. * - averageuser - Jun 1, 2011 Bartender is the only one I can think of. * - ULTRAMARV - Jun 1, 2011 i really like elfenlied its very simply and nice with a loot of blood :O) * - Professor Pantsu - Jun 1, 2011 (Jun 1, 2011 02:15 PM)ULTRAMARV Wrote: i really like elfenlied Elfen Lied isn't really an adult series. It's more of a teenager "I'm so edgy and dark" series. On topic, there isn't really a single best anime series for adults, anything seinen is for adults. As for the best seinen, it's all up to the individual to decide. If your a female, then you may be more interested in josei stuff. * - 1-0 Meadows - Jun 1, 2011 I know there is no "one best" but many people have their favorite. This is for people to voice their opinion on what they think is best and maybe get ideas on something they might not have watched. Im also gonna throw Rurouni Kenshin out there. The series seems to be aimed towards teens but I think most adults would enjoy it. And the movies are definitely more adult oriented. * - siman880 - Jun 1, 2011 Have you ever seen Trinity Blood? I have yet to watch it, but it was recommended by a friend. * - Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga - Jun 1, 2011 This is kind of a hard topic, as most animes would be enjoyed by adults and teenagers/children alike and I don't think there are any animes that are specifically for adults. For example, Azumanga Daioh is funny and childish/kiddy, but both adults and teenagers enjoy it. If I were you I wouldn't look for animes to match your age, but rather your preferred genre :) * - averageuser - Jun 1, 2011 (Jun 1, 2011 02:26 PM)Kallen Stadtfeld Wrote: On topic, there isn't really a single best anime series for adults. I would say that most anime isn't really catered towards "normal" adults in the first place, but the target market for most moeshit, harem, etc.. series is indeed adult otaku. (or just major losers, no offence to any losers here) And in reality, the target market for most "dark" or "mature" series are young teenagers, because prod companies know kids will buy into this shit. The people who producers and companies are trying to get to buy their products and watch their shows, aren't always a direct reflection of the series itself. Like for example, you'd assume that K-ON is for pre-teen or young teenage girls, but in reality, they probably make most of their revenue from adult, obese fags. * - The Laughing Man - Jun 1, 2011 So I assume you want dark and deep then OP since you said "for adults"? Okay then, try "Now and then, here and there" http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/now-and-then-here-and-there This is deep. It's none of that pseudo-political crap you'll get in Code Geass. * - Almost - Jun 1, 2011 (Jun 1, 2011 09:48 PM)The Laughing Man Wrote: So I assume you want dark and deep then OP since you said "for adults"? Code Geass isn't deep? fuckin' trollin nigga * - DigitalDesire - Jun 1, 2011 It gets really deep towards the end of Neon Genesis: Evangelion. If you don't know a lot about psychology it might get a bit boring and hard to follow though. * - Status - Jun 1, 2011 What does adult mean? Aren't all adults different? * - Peter Pot - Jun 2, 2011 Hmm... You can try out Ghost in the Shell. |
