[TUT] Finding Vulnerabilities in your Windows System and Fixing Them - Exodus-:) - Jun 3, 2011

Hello HF!
Today I'll be showing you how to find vulnerabilities in your Windows System using Kaspersky Integrated Vulnerability Scanner.

Vulnerabilities are damn dangerous. I myself got infected 5 times from a Vulnerability in my Internet Explorer 8, I scanned for the vuln. and fixed it. Now IE only doesn't contain Vuln. but all software does. Like Flash PLayer, Media Player, DLL Files etc

The AntiVirus i recommend is Kaspersky Internet Security. It's heavy but preforms it's job with precision, It has a greater detection rate then Avira etc.

Now open you Kaspersky Interface from the Start menu:

Now Click the "Vulnerability Scan" and then press "Start".
Give the program some time to scan the Vulnerabilities in your system. After it is done it'll review all the Vulnerabilities it found, Just Highlight the specified Vuln. and Press "FIX".

Spoiler (Click to View)

Congratz! You just fixed all the vulnerabilities in your System.

P.S: 1 Scan Per Day will make your System More Secure so make sure you do that!

I Hope this little tutorial of mine will help ya all :D

Thanks man, but Kaspersky is expensive I've heard, and not everyone can get keys/cracks for it, or don't like using warez XD

I never knew it has this built in feature, I do a lot of PC repair in real life and this would be a great recommendation.
Another good Vuln scanner is Secunia :) Secunia just updates though, doesn't patch vulns :(

Thank you for the tutorial :)

Kaspersky will get the job done but I recommend you use a program called Secunia PSI. This program scans your computer for programs vulnerabilities and automatically update or fix the program for you.
