[Review] Occult Academy - [animeFAN!] Shana - Jul 1, 2011
Well, I was planning on doing other reviews but I finished Occult Academy and I just had to do a review for this one.
Occult Academy

Plot
Waldstein Academy, known to many as the Occult Academy for its studies and strange event relating to the occult. When the headmaster of this academy, Kumashiro Jun'ichiro, suddenly dies, his daughter, Maya, steps in. Maya's hate for the occult guides her on her way to destroy the academy but it changes when, Abe Minoru, a time-agent descends from the skies and asks for her help.
My Opinion
Let's start off with the animation. The scenery looks great and I rarely(if ever) felt that a place was bland. The animation is fluid, and can make for some really good scenes.
The characters are quite interesting and really fit as people of the academy. They were pretty well designed and have very little flaws when they act their part in the plot.
That brings us to the plot, where I have to say it could've been better. When you mess with time in your story, there are a lot of little holes that you have to cover and those little things were what bugged me and sometimes even confused me. Other than that, it was fine and well designed too. There weren't any repetitive scenes and actions tended to fit the mood.
Overall, what seemed to be a horror show at first turned into one that was full of laughs and excitement. This is definitely a must watch, especially because they fit a lot into 13 episodes.
Fun Facts
Hanazawa Kana makes an appearance again as Naruse Kozue which is surprisingly not a loli.
Loli fans will be dissapoint as the only loli is fully clothed and is only there for 2 episodes.
MC is a tsundere, listen to the previews at the end of each episode.
JUST REALIZED. Maya's seiyuu is also the seiyuu for Akiyama Mio(K-on). I figured it out when listening to her character album and thought it sounded oddly familiar.
