How can i create my own audio format and audio player for that format? - Thereaper999 - Sep 28, 2009

hello. im would like to know how can i create an audio player that plays my custom audio file format. For example: an audio player made in vb6 that plays a audio file format with the extension *.nma How can i create a file format from a WAV or MP3 sound file in vb6, a converter and an audio player for that specific extension? Help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Please Help 😵😵😵

No reason to recreate a new format (which is extremely complicated and mathmatically intense), just use the win api to create a music player.

Just rename the file extension to myfile.nma instead of myfile.wav and then insert that into the URL of the Media Player in VB. DONT ask where to get the music player.

Go to the properties of the file, and select a custom icon for the specific file.

If you don't know how to access the properties of files, right-click > Properties...

... what i mean IS!!! that in the same App, i click a button and it associates all the *.nma file with an official icon
