Setting up VPN server on my Dedicated server [WINDOWS] - Releases - Aug 25, 2011 So I need a little help here. Currently renting a Windows server 2008 Dedicated server, going to give some vpn logins away connected with this server. Which software should I use to make this happen and which do you prefer? I appreciate if somebody can put me in the right direction.. * - Cerebro - Aug 25, 2011 OpenVPN is a nice one, not much software needed to be installed. Or you can just do PPTP. * - Releases - Aug 25, 2011 What do you prefer and what is the most stable Cerebro"? * - Cerebro - Aug 25, 2011 OpenVPN in my opinion is most stable but, the software which needs to be installed on the clients PC is limited to Windows (as far as I know) Other programs are available for other OSs but its a bit of a hassle. Therefore as PPTP is built-in to almost every OS made, it would make it a lot easier, client side of course. However regulating it and bringing up statistics etc would be easier in OpenVPN. Its your choice. * - HotShotGG - Aug 25, 2011 Yeah I agree with Cerebo OpenVPN is stable and easy to use. |
