DDos'ing Vs Dos'ing - Simplicity.au - Sep 12, 2011 Denial of Service Vs. Distributed Denial of Service.... I know DDos'ing is more powerful but would like to clarify what is the difference between the two. To my knowledge so far is the only difference is that Dos'ing is someone doing it by them selves with a small amount of packets, and that DDos'ing is several people doing extra large amounts. Please make is clear to me and the rest of the "beginners" out there that aren't to sure on it either... * - Krueger - Sep 12, 2011 You don't need to make a thread about this... There's enough beginners Tut's that they are talking between the difference ... Its only because people came here and don't read previous topics so they keep asking the same fucking questions every day ... :P * - Anonymous.7654 - Sep 12, 2011 DoS Attack = When you use 1 Computer,DDoS when you use Botnet ,100 - 1000 or 10000 Computers. * - `00Synch_ - Sep 12, 2011 A DoS is a "stand-a-lone" type of flood. A PHP shell is a script uploaded to some form of hosting, designed to flood a specific IP address utilizing a specific port. Shells are a DoS, possibly the most used and best example. A DDoS incorporates multiple machines or people. If multiple people were to shell a certain website, it would technically be a DDoS. DDoS'ing uses multiple clients, which include host booters, shell booters(if multiple shells, if not it's a DoS), HTTP Botnets, and IRC botnets. All of these methods spread a stub(server, bot, whatever you like.), the only difference is how the botnet is managed and used. I say used, because hostbooters require a click of the mouse, where an IRC botnet requires a command. This is only the tip of the iceberg, DoS/DDoSing can go much more in-depth, such as discussing the coding behind it, various spreading/use methods, and even the very means of how floods are transferred/interpreted(Usually a UDP protocol, by the way). |
