Does USB port 3.0 work still faster with a USB 2.0 drive compared to a USB 2.0 port and drive and visa versa does a USB 3.0 drive work faster with a USB 2.0 port than USB 2.0 port and drive.
Basically do you need USB 3.0 drive and port to be faster than USB 2.0

No as its hardware is up to scratch but software isnt, as the software (driver) does the computing.

You need everything in USB3.0, device, cable and port ;-)
