[Tut] How to make any photo Extreme Quality. Better than HD! [Tut] - illLusion - Oct 3, 2011

Today I will be teaching you how to turn any photo on the web (Even low quality) into what I call EQ, or, Extreme Quality.

Step one: Find an image
I picked this one.

Step two: Load your image into photoshop

Step three: Reduce noise
Select the main layer, go to filter> noise> reduce noise

Step five: Make the top layer black and white
Go to image> adjustments> black and white
Settings:
-Soft light
-Set this layers opacity to 50%

Step six: Gaussian Blur
Select the next layer and go to Filter> Gaussian blur
Settings:
-Radius to 3 pixels
-Soft light
-Set this layers opacity to 50%

Good job so far, if you are following this tutorial your work should look like mine.

Step 7: High Pass
Select the last extra layer and go to Filter> High Pass
Settings:
-Radius to 10
-Soft light
-Set this layers opacity to 50%

(optional) Step 8: HDR Toning
Go to Image> Adjustments> HDR Toning
Select yes to flatten image
Then change method to, Exposure and Gamma.

Step 8 or 9: Saving
Now that we have done all this work, we need to export it with max quality. To do this go to File> Save as web and device
Settings to change:
-PNG 24
-Percent 100
-Quality: Bicupic Smoother
Then click save and enjoy your [EQ] Extreme Quality picture!

End result!:
