[TUT] Viewing DNS records through CMD. - JiN1337 - Oct 14, 2011 A very small tutorial. I don't claim credits for it. But I'm writing this myself, it's a small guide, but it's not hacking, more like to show you what can be uncovered about you if you're not careful and don't use a program like CCleaner to remove those traces regularly. No matter what your DNS servers are set to, DNS records are also stored on your computer. On a Windows computer, here's how you access them, and delete them. Code Start > cmd > ipconfig/displaydnsIf you haven't cleared your cache, you should read in plain-text details and URLS of websites you have visited. When you're done looking, maybe you don't want to use a third party cleaner to rid of these pesky records for you? Simple enough. Code ipconfig/flushdnsThat's that. I hope you either enjoyed, or learned something from it. Don't flame, just trying to spread little bits of knowledge to the community that has given me so much more in return. * - devnull - Oct 14, 2011 Thanks for this :) Very useful for me! * - Clones - Oct 14, 2011 This is very helpful to me, thanks for sharing :) |
