HF News - Interviewers - Praefectus - Oct 15, 2011

Introduction

The HF News is looking for two interviewers that have good grammar, are polite, high quality, and truly deserves the position. These positions won't be given to just anyone. The new interviewers will be chosen by Sir, Reported, and me and I'll review everyone's application and applicant thoroughly. We're currently looking for two interviewers to write two interviews weekly in the Main News editions by Sunday morning.

Requirements



  • Above Average Grammar - Your interviews must look professional and not sloppy

  • High Quality - Making the group look low quality isn't allowed

  • Mature - You must be mature for obvious reasons, there are no exceptions

  • Professional - Professionalism is a must, For example, we don't stand for corruption

  • Skype or MSN - If your interview is needed or you need to be contacted you'll need Skype or MSN

  • Active - Activity is a must, we won't stand for an inactive interviewer

  • Creative - When you ask questions some of them should be creative

  • Writer - You have to be a good writer & willing to post two interviews weekly

Rules

  • Don't copy anyone's application.

  • Don't rush through making your application, if it looks like you did you'll be denied immediately.

  • Negative reputations are allowed, but up to an extent and they'll be reviewed.

  • Use the application you're given and only that. Don't add the HF News banner, Your own banner, Don't add your own section, etc.

Reminders:
  • Take your time on your application.

  • Make your application look professional.

  • Don't apply just because you want the user bar or you want to be labeled as an interviewer.

  • Applications shall only be posted here.

  • I don't and won't give a reason why someone was denied.

  • This application form is one step and the next is initiation. You'll have to do one test interview and if you past you'll be in probation and soon enough be a full fledged interviewer.

  • If you truly want to join this group and be an interviewer act like it, read all of the rules and requirements, be patient on your application, aim for perfection, etc.



Q&A


The "Q" stands for "Question" and the "A" stands for "Answer".
  • Q - Will you accept me, because we're friends?
    • A - No, that would fall under corruption, abuse of power, and it would be UN-professional. Under no circumstances will anyone be accepted, because of personal reasons. An acceptance or denial is strictly business and professional.




  • Q - I like the writer's user bar. So can I apply, because I want it?
    • A - No, that would be an idiotic reason to apply and you'd be denied instantly.




  • Q - Cobalt+/Sir/Reported don't like me. Does that lessen my chances of being accepted?
    • A - No, you'll be reviewed by three people so one no won't out rule you. This is kept strictly professional and in no way will personal dislikes interrupt recruitment.




  • Q - Can I do interviews for the user news?
    • A - Possibly if Reported chooses to write for the main news.




  • Q - If something happens in my real life can I notify you I'll be inactive and not be removed from my position?
    • A - Yes, you can apply for a leave of absence, but it can't last more than 2 weeks.




  • Q - Can I interview my friend, because I owe him for something he did for me?
    • A - Yes, we actually give interviewers one freebie giving them the opportunity to interview one person for personal reasons and they don't have to qualify all of the requirements. Although it matters on the time and if an interview is requested.




  • Q - How can I become head interviewer?
    • A - You'll have to contact Sir or me and really do your part and a head interviewer would have to be open.




  • Q - What do head interviewers do that regular interviewers don't?
    • A - Recruit, Nominate new interviews, Organize the interviewer section, Proof read interviews, Do the most work, Communicate & Mentor, etc.

How active are you on a daily basis? I am online for atleast 5-7 hours a day and on weekends/holidays even more.
Why do you want to become an interviewer? Because I always think I have the capability to be a journalist. In real life, I am the head of my school's weekly magazine and I know how the cookie crumble's.

How good is your grammar on a scale from one to ten? 9. I received a perfect score on both the Writing part, and the Reading part of my college entrance exams. I don't give myself a 10 because I'm human, and occasionally make a mistake.
How active are you on a daily basis? As long as I'm not in school (only in class on Mondays and Wednesdays now), I am on for at least several hours of the day. It varies anywhere from 3 to 8 hours per day.
Why do you want to become an interviewer? I feel like I qualify for the position. I'm not only doing this for the userbar, which can easily be proven by the fact that I just left all of the groups I was in: Red Lions, Black Knights, Eminence, RATs Crew, and Minecrafters. I was not kicked, I just didn't believe that I could keep up with all of the posts that were required of me at the time. However, I believe that limiting myself to this single group will be much more manageable.

How are you professional? Professionalism is incredibly important to me. I grew up watching my dad run a business, and have run a small software company of my own. I always handle every matter professionally, and never troll or act childish.
Why do you deserve to be an interviewer? I meet all of the qualifications and requirements, if not exceed them. I take pride in my professionalism, and would love to be able to use that ability in a way that benefits this forum.
Do you enjoy writing, reading, and proof reading? Yes. I read every night before bed, and have received an A on every assignment I have been given in my College Composition 2 course. I'm not going to lie, proof reading isn't necessarily enjoyable, but I can do it efficiently and accurately nonetheless.
Are you willing to send in one or more interviews by every Sunday? Absolutely. At the time being, I am not enrolled as a full time student, and have plenty of time to interview members.

How good is your grammar on a scale from one to ten? I would like to think my grammar is pretty good, so i'm going to say 8.
How active are you on a daily basis? I'm usually on the forum all day when not busy.
Why do you want to become an interviewer? I think it'd be a great group to join, also it's not a "huge" group so the group i'm guessing is "close".
Do you have Skype? I do have Skype.
How are you professional? I can do anything you ask, also I'm very mature when the time comes to be.
Why do you deserve to be an interviewer? Well i'm honestly not going to write some "sob" story to try and "win" you over. But I just think this would be a great experience, and sounds like fun!
Do you enjoy writing, reading, and proof reading? I do actually enjoy it, I have my own blog I write in everyday. Also I wrote about a girl once for a whole month, I wrote over 60 full pages. So overall yeah I like to write and read.

How active are you on a daily basis? I am online about 4-6 hours a day. Depending on work and school though, i could be on less. (Even though that is my average for when i work also.)

Why do you want to become an interviewer? I think it would give me a chance to get to know more people and make more friends here on HF. I fell as if i am quite nice and easy to get along with so i would think users wouldn't mind getting interviewed by me.

Do you have Skype? Yes I do.

How are you professional? I fell as if i am professional because i am always on topic and never spam. I try my best to be HQ so people will like me and not troll me (So far so good, haha.)

Why do you deserve to be an interviewer? I am nice, easy going, and mature. I think that is a tough combination to come across these days. So many people on here are just plain mean and i don't think they even realize it!

Do you enjoy writing, reading, and proof reading? I do. Sadly, outside of school, i do not have much free time to do things i like. That's why most of the time i'm on here, because i don't have to do anything but get on a computer.

Are you willing to send in one or more interviews by every Sunday? Yes, I could do as many interviews as needed as long as I have time to. I usually work on Saturday and Sunday though 12-5 and I am usually home around 6 PM EST.

How good is your grammar on a scale from one to ten? If I were to rate my grammar, I would say it is about an eight.

How active are you on a daily basis? Pretty active, I tend to post about at least ten posts a day, more if it is on the weekends.

Why do you want to become an interviewer? I would like the opportunity to become an interviewer for the news because I would like to speak to members, and ask them new questions that have not been asked before. I would ask open ended questions to get the most information out of the interviewee.

How are you professional? Although most of the time I just like to chill and talk normally to people, if I am doing something professional such as interviewing someone I would act in a professional manner.

Why do you deserve to be an interviewer? I don't deserve anything, but I do however think that choosing me to become an interviewer would not be a choice regretted.
