What makes difference is the person managing the OS, not the OS itself. * - orunu - Oct 18, 2011 stuff like BB(blackbuntu) BT(backtrack) are linux OS's MADE for hacking, all it is, is they have basically all the tools you'll ever need already installed from my understanding. But like join said the person behind the OS is wat matters not the OS itself, you can be the best hacker in the world and only use windows 98, its just the knowledge of the person. * - Bezz - Oct 18, 2011 Thanks for good answers! (y) <short msg> * - ChewBox - Oct 18, 2011 I personally use Linux (Backtrack 5) with a WindowsXP VMBox. This allow's me to easily have any tools I may need easily at the ready, as well as a Windows operating system for anything windows specific (Such as .NET). I personally just prefer Linux over Windows when it comes to hacking. * - Best Teemo NA - Oct 18, 2011 Well most servers are linux so yeah in a way but windows is good to. * - | Solo | - Oct 18, 2011 linux will be more friendly, but hacking got its roots in dos :P * - ChewBox - Oct 18, 2011 (Oct 18, 2011 03:19 PM)ANON EXPECTUS Wrote: Well most servers are linux so yeah in a way but windows is good to. The common server operating system has nothing to do with how well you can hack it from any other system. The only difference would be, if you were using a linux operating system, you MIGHT already know some of the linux commands used on servers. They take about 5 minutes to find and learn so I wouldn't base an operating system choice on a common server OS. |
