Security Problems Tor - Leaked IP address - Zim - Nov 30, 2011 So how does this web site manage to leak my real ip address when using ADVor and Firefox. All other websites are unable to detect my real ipaddress but this one can. https://www.securitymetrics.com/portscan.adp I need to patch the hole. * - m0rTonB3LL - Nov 30, 2011 Probably uses a flash object. Java and flash don't follow the rules all the time. Use a true VPN? * - Zim - Nov 30, 2011 Ok thanks, you gave me an idea, I first disabled all plugins for firefox which didnt work. I then searched under the intercept option of AdvTor and I noticed three process called plugin-container.exe, Firefox.exe and FirefoxPortable.exe. I noticed Selecting Firefox and FirefoxPortable, didn't do anything, but selecting the process called plugin-container.exe stopped my computer from leaking my ipaddress. It still buggy and slow :( it crashes a bit too. I`m going to have to be more careful in the future, this could of got me busted. * - ganon551 - Jan 25, 2012 When I'm going on your link with my tor, it's showing me actual node ip. Btw I'm using btor's browser Vidalia. If you connect to a vpn, then launch tor, is it showing you your original ip ? Or vpn's one ? * - Zhen. - Jan 25, 2012 Its also recommended to use a VPN for further better precautions nVPN would be a suggestion as doesn't store logs |
