[TuT] An Alternative Spreading Method [TuT] - Raykoid666 - Dec 15, 2009
Okay, I have done a new spreading method lately, and it works pretty well for me so I decided to share it
You will need:
- Atleast some form of a botnet (from as little to as big as you want)
- A keylogger/password stealer/rat (basicly anything that will get you msn/facebook/... passwords)
- A small bit of time and patience
- Some social engineering skills (you need to be able to convince others you are someone else atleast the slightest bit)
So basicly, the steps are as such:
- Upload your stealer/rat/keylogger server to any host that allows you to direct link (Spam.com is a good free one)
- Infect your bots with the server you just uploaded through the download function in your bots
- You should soon be getting passwords to facebook/msn or other kinds of social networking site
- Upload your bot server somewhere with icon changed, name changed, ... to make people think it's something else (online radio client, keygen, ...)
- Get into someone's facebook/msn/... and start talking to people and spread the bot

wow, thats like the easiest tut ever. Why not spread it from your own account and just have an error message come up?

I actually tried this recently, but I just used metus and got some peoples facebooks and update status' I also got a youtube account with about 600 subscribers. I got almost 480 bots that one night. Sometimes it works, but not a lot of people downloaded off facebook. I should have talked to people on facebook chat. Oh well, I can do it again whenever. Nice short tutorial. 👍

You reach more people with other accounts, and if you get a facebook with lots of friends, or a youtube with a lot of subscribers, you already have an audience and you can hijack that profile and upload your own stuff to it and so on. So it's faster than building your own audience

kinda depends, i used to do this on 4chan, but since i tend to upload keyloggers to my bots afterwards, i found that the quality of the logs was really bad since most of those people do nothing all day but watch porn...
Now, if you manage to find a person with a lot of gaming friends/downloaders/.... you get steam, #, ... == $$$

You could easily make a little Perl script to assist in any of this, with LWP it would hardly take any real work, unless you needed to use regexp's, although I don't think you'd need spend much time on them

Yeah making a script to do it came to my mind but unfortunately, my perl goes only as far as sending basic commands to a server

yea i got this chicks myspace once and she had like 12,000 friends. she was some kind of model. and i posted a bulletin encouraging her friends to download the video of her drunk and half naked at a party. worked VERY well. but that was a long time ago. before i gave away my net to a friend when i went to bootcamp.
