You are using a function without returning any value. Why don't you simply use a sub ? Anyway, pretty nice function ! Thanks for the share :)

* - StarZ - Jan 7, 2012

I had it returning a List for my initial test.

I forgot to switch it.

Here's another method, gets the date as well:

Code
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
  ReturnNameHistory("http://steamcommunity.com/id/8295", ListView1)
    End Sub

    Sub ReturnNameHistory(ByVal url As String, ByVal lv As ListView)
  Dim rl As New ListView.ListViewItemCollection(lv)
  Dim s As String = New Net.WebClient().DownloadString(url & "/namehistory")
  Dim non As Integer = System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Matches(s, System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Escape("-</span>")).Count
  For i As Integer = 2 To non Step 2
    rl.Add(New ListViewItem(Split(s, "-</span>")(i).Split("<")(0).Replace(ChrW(9), "")))
    rl.Item(rl.Count - 1).SubItems.Add(Split(s, """historyDate"">")(i / 2).Split("<")(0))
  Next
    End Sub

Thanks, Cody! I'm not the best with RegEx. Thanks for your Alternative Method!

Nice share. Just wondering, how do you get the code transparent?

* - StarZ - Jan 7, 2012

What do you mean, (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━━┻? Cody used the [code] tags, I posted an image.

It's not transparent. The pic is darker than the HF skin

* - (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━━┻ - Jan 7, 2012

Oh, it looked transparent at a glance. But what did you do to put it on that background..?

* - T3amworkz - Jan 7, 2012

It's not working very correctly for me It finds a previous name but also an totally random

Added a Game Parser. Parses the AppID ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/ & AppID for a link to the game itself...) And the Games Name.

* - Chewbaka - Jan 7, 2012

Here is more cleaner regex for the game grabber.

Code
Dim r As New Regex("rgGames\['(?<id>[\d]+)'\] = '(?<game>.*)';")

* - StarZ - Jan 7, 2012

Yeah, I could use grouping, or just return it as a MatchCollection. But, I like to leave the end user a little to do. :)
