Unknown Security Taking Over My Computer - JustHayden - Jan 6, 2012 So i just started watching lost on a website that I've watched maybe 5 or 6 entire series on and when i tried to watch this one episode firefox crashed and Windows Home Security 2012 poped up saying i just got a trojan. Now i don't remember ever getting this security or any sort of updates happening but now i can barley open anything without this program saying it is infected! In the scan, it said that i have 29 viruses but pretty much everything there totally isn't a virus. I have no idea whats going on and i would appreciate it if someone could help me out with this. I also tried opening avira but it also says that's a virus too! * - dknow101 - Jan 7, 2012 I have ran into this a few times (friends and clients) What are you running....XP..Vista...7 It will start to cause your computer to hide your folder, icons and just plain cause more damage. Google is your friend but i can help you if you like * - Gent - Jan 7, 2012 This is just a scareware Trojan. On a different machine, download Malwarebytes and install it on the infected machine in Safe Mode. * - GeeMann - Jan 7, 2012 I have come across this too. Told me I had to run a scan on my "C" drive immediately.... I run Linux LOL. Run Malwarebytes as previously suggested. It is just scareware. * - rootkit - Jan 7, 2012 It's calle a rogue antivirus. It's a trojan fake antivirus which installs itself to your computer and scares you with trojan alerts. Next it's going to want you to buy the premium version of the antivirus, do not pay for it. Go to the white hat section for more help. * - Anxuein - Jan 7, 2012 If you think/know you are infected, read the "I am infected! What do I do?" thread. Gather the requested logs and paste them on Pastebin. Then create a new thread in this forum with the links directed to your Pastebin logs. Let a trained HJT member help you.
