What kind of Robot do you use? And i doubt that C# is a good option anyways.

There a lot of different robots. There are ones that can be programmed on BASIC, C/C++, Java, etc. There are also ones that can be programmed on special controllers or trough ladder programs.

you can use a Arduino board, the language is similar to C or Netduino where you can program your robot in Net languages like c# or vb.net, i'm not quot sure.. but bouth [depends of the board model] have a lot of io pins that you can use...

It depends entirely on how you are interfacing with the robot.
If it is something standardized, like an RS232 port or USB, then any language could probably do it.
