Dead Leaves is a comedy, sci-fi, adventure, psychological, anime movie that was released January 16th, 2004.

Dead leaves is about a girl and a guy who has a T.V. for a head, who wake up in the middle of the desert in future earth, with no recollection of what previously happened. Also they're naked. So after they get their bearings back a bit, they get clothed and decide to go on a rampage and cause as much destruction as they can. Obviously the police don't like this and chase after them. After a good run, they get caught and are sent to a really weird prison, that is located on the moon and is named Dead Leaves. After a few days of going through prison life in Dead Leaves, they decide to they are going to break out, with the help of all the other inmates of course.

Retro- Retro is one of the main characters of the anime. He is the guy with the T.V. for a head. He has a reckless attitude, and doesn't really think things through before doing them.
Pandy- Pandy is the other main character of the story, only the girl. She's a bit more relaxed than Retro is. She also tends to think things through before she does things.

The animation style in this anime was more sharp than most animes. Lines and figures had a harder edge to them, though movements and what not were still smooth flowing, everything just had a harder edge to it. At times it also seems that is cell shaded, like Borderlands.

I have not seen much anime that is relatively close to this one at all. I can really only think of FLCL to be even remotely close, but that's only because of the goofy level. But here's what MyAnimeList has to say.
