[MyBB] Create a custom page (with disclaimer) before index - To The Limits - Mar 10, 2012 Hey guys, I need to create a custom page with legal disclaimer that people have to accept before they can enter in my site. Do you know how to do this? I know a MyBB forum with one of these and If requested I can PM you that forum for example. Spoiler (Click to View) Please suggest me something. I need to resolve this iusse soon. 🤝 Thanks in advance !!! * - Grammar Rays - Mar 10, 2012 Look into cookies and sessions in PHP. I'd put a PHP function that checks if a cookie exists and the cookie is made when the user submits the disclaimer form. That's how I would do it. * - Lost_Witness - Mar 10, 2012 Hey mate. This is pretty simple. You can just create a index.html file and upload your forum to a directory /forum and then link the index.html to /forum link. If you need help designing the page link me to your forum and I will do it for you. * - Grammar Rays - Mar 10, 2012 (Mar 10, 2012 02:06 PM)Lost_Witness Wrote: Hey mate. This is pretty simple. Then users can just go to /forum, so I suggest you do that but add a cookie which is checked on both pages, if it is valid/true then it directs to /forum/ and shows content. * - To The Limits - Mar 10, 2012 (Mar 10, 2012 02:06 PM)Lost_Witness Wrote: Hey mate. I think he may want it to appear whenever the site is accessed for the first time, be it to the mybb board or a specific link. If this is a case you would have to play around with cookies and sessions in the files of myBB, I am no master so I won't try and elaborate, if you want to take a simpler approach, Make a file of your choice, etc: welcome.php Open your .htaccess file and add, DirectoryIndex welcome.php * - Raijin - Mar 10, 2012 That example in your post is just a setting to where no one can access the forum without logging in. It's in MyBB admin settings somewhere. * - To The Limits - Mar 10, 2012 (Mar 10, 2012 02:12 PM)Raijin Wrote: That example in your post is just a setting to where no one can access the forum without logging in. yeah, this can be also a solution because I think i can edit that default Mybb text and put my disclaimer here. What do you think? Can you help me with this? * - Raijin - Mar 10, 2012 (Mar 10, 2012 02:14 PM)JesusOfSuburbia Wrote: yeah, this can be also a solution because I think i can edit that default Mybb text and put my disclaimer here. Go to the admin panel and then "Users & Groups". Click "Groups" Click "Guests" Then go to "Forums and Posts" And uncheck "Can view board" * - To The Limits - Mar 10, 2012 (Mar 10, 2012 02:27 PM)Raijin Wrote: Go to the admin panel and then "Users & Groups". Great. This is the solution. 🤝 Now I have to edit that custom text -> "You are either not logged in or do not have permission to view this page. This could be because one of the following reasons: You are not logged in or registered. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to login. " ect ect With my own disclaimer. So I'm going to check the files to find it. If you know where is the file located just post here. 🤝 EDIT: I got the code. Thanks for the help guys! 🙂 |
