Confirmation about Suggestions and Ideas section? - Douchebag # 145 - Mar 14, 2012

The Suggestions and Ideas forum rules are below.

Important Information About Suggestions Forum
1. Search this section to make sure your suggestion wasn't given already. It most likely has.
2. Most suggestions threads are closed with no comment. That's likely because it's rejected.
3. Don't PM staff or admins about suggestion threads. Either to ask to read them or why a thread was closed.
Suggestions and Ideas
Now, my question is about the first rule.
For example, say User A suggested a "Cat section" to be created for HF. The idea was/wasn't popular, but in the end the thread was not closed (therefore not denied) and was pushed back into the depths of the section.
Now, some time later another member, lets call him User B, creates a thread in the Suggestions and Ideas forum and suggests to create a "Cat section" for HF.

Is User B breaking the rules (keep in mind User A's suggestion was never closed, but the thread is still there and can be easily found by using the search feature)?

Thank you.

If there is already a thread created for the suggestion, then there should be no reason to create another. I understand that the User A thread is back dated and old, but User B should post in it if he/she wants to bring the suggestion back up.

Most User B's intentionally makes a new thread to get more posts on their thread so it'll be more popular and credit if the suggestion gets accepted later.

Just report it or PM me the two (or more) threads. It happens, not the biggest issue.
