You can use this to convert images into different image formats, audio files into different audio formats, and video files into different video formats & audio formats.

So yes, if you wish, you can convert video files into audio files. However, there is a 100 MB file limit

It is an actual file converter. However, the program itself does not convert the file. It sends the file to http://www.online-convert.com/ which converts it to the format of your choice.
