how to gain administrative properties - zan1369 - Aug 18, 2008 Okay ill start off by saying im not the greatest at this kinda of stuff. But what i need to do is at my school we have laptops that we use. We have to use the laptops provided. They have it set up so we cannot install any programs or change any properties without administrative properties. I dont know the administrative account so i need to frind a way to give those properties to my account. or get into the admin, I cant just reset the OS, there are things i need to acess the network saved onto the computer. And i wasnt sure if i emulated an OS if i could install a program and it would still work on my OS on my harddrive. So whats the best thing for me to do? tl;dr: need admin status, cant reset OS. emulate?/hack admin status? - disturbed_1 - Aug 18, 2008 zan1369 Wrote:Okay ill start off by saying im not the greatest at this kinda of stuff. Once it does type "explorer.exe" you should now be listed as "System" instead of the user account your on. On a basic XP Home or Pro installation, this works locally without a problem. However on a network landscape I am not sure how this will work out. - OXY - Aug 22, 2008 Is there any registry key you can change to get the admin account? If so use regedit, or if thats blocked i can build you an exploit to edit the registry without regedit. - OXY - Aug 22, 2008 Also try go to START > RUN > Type in without "" "control userpasswords2" and press enter. Then you can edit the admin password from there. |
