Would I be able to connect to someone else's WiFi and use a program for example Cain and Abel to get their passwords? or is their an easier way or more efficient way?

Not with cain, but you can try bruteforcing it or sometimes its encrytped in the network. Good luck!

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure Wireshark would do the trick!
