Guide to Hostbooters, IRCd, Shells - AProPowerRanger - Jan 28, 2010
Im just going straight to it alright guys.
Host Booters: Downloads.. Visit Brents Downloads.
I know thats his Tutorial.. This is explained more.
Code XR 1.4/2.1 Guide:
Go to Hostbooter.com and dowload all the .OCX files and move them to system32.
OR
Download http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/libraryfiles.exe
Testing the Client:
Next Download your XR Client and Bot(server).
Once youve downloaded them first see if your XR will open without errors. (to see if youve added the .OCX files correctly)
Creating the DNS:
Go to no-ip.com and register. Once youve registered create a host(dns host) that is three(3) letters long. (example: xxx.no-ip.info)
Downloading the Hex editor: http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Products/home/hex-editor-free.html
Hexing the XR bot(server):
Now open your bot.exe (server.exe) in your hex editor, press Ctrl+f and search for no-ip. Now you will see a three(3) letter name before .no-ip
edit the three(3) letter name to your dns you just created. then save as .exe
Port Forwarding your Router:
First open CMD and type ipconfig. The ip address will show up as 192.168.x.x. (ipv4 is for wireless connections or other computers on the network)
Login to your router (Its usually 192.168.1.1)
Netgear:
Go to firewall settings, Then add a undefined setting (something close to that) and add 3070 for TCP and UDP, leave the settings below that blank for default. Once that is done change to your computer (combo box), then it will load, once loaded go to your newly added port setting and click add, once added scroll down and in the bottom right corner click done (to save changes).
Linksys:
Go to applications and gaming, once that is done you will see a table. This is fairly easy. For the name of the setting put hostbooter or whatever you would like. Then for the ports put 3070, 3070. Then for type of forward put Both. Then put your computers ip. Then tick the check box for enabling the rule and hit save changes at the bottom right.
Now lets see what you got done.

Creating the DNS:
Assuming you have a no-ip.com or dyndns.com account create a dns with any amount of letters and numbers you want.
Creating the bot(server):
Before we start make sure your metusclient.exe and stub.exe are in the same location.
Open MetuS 2.8 and go to the server Builder tab.
Once there create a new profile.
Then enter in you port you want the bots to connect on (preferibly default is 3174)
Then enter in your host; which would be your dns.
Tick the box for USB (USB is outdated on MetuS)
Then save your profile
Then hit build
If a window pops up saying server successfully created goodjob.
(Check if theres a server.exe in your MetuS 2.8 location.

How to Setup a IRCd Server on a VPS or Shell.
IRCd Guide:
First off buy your Linux VPS.
Secondly download a SSH Client Putty.exe download
Then download a FTP client File Zilla
Now connect to your VPS with your SSH client to do so you need your root login credentials.
User: root Pass: you should know.
Now that we are connected to the Server via SSH we can start setting up the IRCd.
Type the following in order:
Code wget http://www.brent328.110mb.com/Unreal3.2.8.1.tar.gz
[enter]
zxvf Unreal3.2.8.1.tar.gz
[enter]
rm Unreal3.2.8.1.tar.gz
[enter]
cd Unreal3.2
[enter]
./Config
[enter]
Use default settings so just keep pressing the [enter] button untill it makes the official config file.
Once thats done it will tell you to "make" your server. So type make and then press [enter].
Now connect to your VPS via FTP client.
Direct yourself to the Unreal3.2 folder under the root directory.
Now create a file called rules.conf and motd.conf (this usually isn't created during the install so you have to manually add these conf files.)
Now navigate to http//www.brent328.110mb.com/unreealircd.conf
Download that and edit the maxclients to how ever much bots you want to be able to connect in your IRCd. Also edit the OP Block, change your op user and pass to you opline credentials.
Once thats done upload to the Unreal3.2 directory under the root folder.
Now back to SSH, type ./unreal start to startup your server.
Your IRCd has now been setup!
In order to use the commands before you have to type cd Unreal3.2
Commands for IRCd in SSH:
./unreal start - start
./unreal restart - restart
./unreal stop - stop
Did you change any config settings in the unrealircd.conf file? Use ./unreal restart
Don't want anyone connecting to your server? ./unreal stop
Want to start your server back up? ./unreal start
Connecting to Your Server via mIRC and other Internet Relay Chat:
Type in /s serverip:port
Now go to the Scripts Editor in your mIRC.
Go to the Alliases tab and add the following.
Code /op1 /mode # +ooo $$1 $2 $3
/dop /mode # -ooo $$1 $2 $3
/j /join #$$1 $2-
/p /part #
/n1 /names #$$1
/w /whois $$1
/k /kick # $$1 $2-
/q /query $$1
/send /dcc send $1 $2
/chat /dcc chat $1
/ping /ctcp $$1 ping
/s /server $$1-
/oper /oper OPERname OPERpassword
/n /names $chan
/op /samode $chan +q $me | /samode $chan +o $me | /n
/cmode /samode $chan $$1
Make sure the OPERname and OPERpassword is your OPname and your OPpass.
If you added another op line and you didn't restart your IRCd try /rehash while your IRcd operator before you connect throught SSH and use ./unreal restart.
Shell Setup
Shell Guide:
Shells for download:
http://troubic.co.cc/shells.php
Its self-explanatory. Upload your shell to var/www on your server.
Shell extension should be .php
I will add this later.
Note: This is not done yet, i will be editing this (with pictures i think)

Nice contribution, I hope most people here would be able to set this up (the IRCd) without using the FTP and the SSH combined. I can do with just SSH pretty easily. This is more noob friendly and I'm sure it will help a few people. I was actually planning on making an IRCd setup TUT thru just putty last night.

I know my tutorial is a bit brief on the setup, but that's because there's a lot of shit in there.
Your VPS setup is better than mine as well, and I appreciate you using my links nigga.
Edit:
I just noticed, you have to fix the link, you forgot the dot in between brent328 and 110mb.com!
