[C#] ForgotPass with DATABASE - [SOURCE] [Just1c3] - x64 - May 21, 2012

Hai,

This is my first source release @ Hackforums!
In the last couple of days I made a Progam.
I saw alot of ForgotPass progams and I was thinking of made one too.

But this one use a Database.
It's write all the data too a db and retrieve it when the progam start.
Ther'e is a login System too. And it use a base64 encode method :)

I've learned alot of this project, now I know how to handle with mysql Databases without a php script

You may want to fix the image, it's not working.
I'd like to check this out though, PM me the link and I'll give it a test.

What applications does it support?
And what if MySQL server is not running/installed?

You really shouldnt use base64, its easily reversed.

I can easily put another encryption method just replace the method that include the encryption trough another encryption :)

With encryption btw you suggest me?

@kript0x then It wouldn't send any commands too the server , and the progam wil give a error ;)

mysql ,

Thanks btw for the suggestion :)

Edit: is it too secure enough against reverse engineering?

My suggestion is that you switch to SQLite because:
Your application does not need a heavy database
Your application can work straight out of the box fairly easy Leightweight - you just need to deploy 2 more libraries to get SQlite going

!! I am not sure if you can encrypt the sqlite database but you certainly can set a password.

Another suggestion:
NHibernate / FluentNHibernate : Using NHibernate gives you some advantages - NO SQL and highly OOP (fluent nhibernate).

of course you can use any other database mapping framework - but i looveeee fluenthibernate :)

If you want to stick with MySQL, then your application should come with an installer that will install MySQL if not yet installed, create the database/tables (fluent nhibernate) etc.
so users can use it straight outta box - if not done yet

Thoughs are very good ideas, along with the encryption you should be fine.

Base64 is not encryption algorithm btw, it's an encoding scheme.

Also, I suggest you using Rijndael perhaps.
