For ease of use, I suggest when tracking, the pms they read are clickable. so you know which ones they read. This is useful if you're sending multiple messages back and forth, with the same subject.

I agree, although it would take up more PM space, since it would have to save the PM in-case you delete it from your inbox/anyotherbox...
I find it annoying trying to find what I sent, so I agree with this.

I haven't even used the track PMs option. Dont know what it does?

PM Tracking still exists even when the original PM was removed. Not really important... someone can make a Userscript for it.
